2022 Seventh Annual Tutor Summit:
Balancing Opportunities for English Language Learning
As we kick off Summer 2022, we invited tutors to join us at this year’s 7th Annual Tutor Summit on Sunday afternoon, July 17th from 4-6 p.m. As in recent years, we looked forward to gathering virtually so that we may bring you another outstanding international expert in the language learning field and encourage as many tutors as possible to attend.
Professor Paul Nation, who teaches and resides in New Zealand, accepted the invitation to be our featured guest and joined us in real time (@ 8 hours in the future) from his home. Mr. Nation is best known for his framework which identifies key areas of language teaching focus, labeled “The Four Strands.” He also emphasizes the benefits of extensive reading, repetition, and learning strategies.
Tutors, board members, and invited guests gathered in the comfort of their homes and vacation spots while joining VEP friends for this mid-summer event! As anticipated, it was a relaxing and informational exchange. Workshop surveys were distributed by email. We look forward to planning for future events with the input of our attendees.
