2023 Virtual Volunteer Tutor Training Workshops
VEP is proud to announce that our new, highly successful, VIRTUAL Tutor Training Workshop format is continuing through 2023. It is designed to fully prepare volunteer tutors to teach English to VEP’s long waiting list of non-native speakers who live or work in Chester County. If you have been looking to become more involved in your community this year, consider being a one-to-one English language tutor with the Volunteer English Program.
Here is how you can get started:
Attend: Virtual Training Workshop for New Tutors
Next Tutor Training Workshop (June, evenings)
June 12th (Monday), June 14th (Wednesday) & June 20th (Tuesday) 2023
Time: 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Where: Secure Zoom Platform by Invitation upon Registration.
Workshop Fee: $40.00 (materials and training time)
Two (2) hours attendance required each morning or evening to complete the course. Virtual seating capacity per training is 25 persons on average. Volunteer commitment is for a minimum of one-year, three hours (2 meetings for 1.5 hours each) of weekly instruction with a new English language adult learner.
*Please note that while this is a virtual event, your hard-copy Tutor Training Guide will need to be picked up at the VEP office in West Chester the week before training starts. Pick-up dates will be provided after registration.
