Congratulations to everyone on a successful Chester County Open Tennis Tournament! With 115 players and 95 matches at the Westtown School and Tennis Addiction, it was a record-breaking event! Together, we raised over $8,000 for VEP and collected 300 pounds of food and $2,000 for the West Chester Food Cupboard. A special thanks to Chester County Commissioner Josh Maxwell, who kicked off the tournament with an inspiring speech. 5th Annual Chester County Open Tennis Tournament
The 5th Annual Chester County Open Tennis Tournament, an annual event benefitting VEP and the West Chester Food Cupboard, was held over Labor Day weekend, from Friday, August 29th to Sunday, August 31st, 2025 at Bishop Shanahan in Downingtown, raising over $7,000 for VEP. Congratulations to the winners, finalists and participants and many thanks to all who participated! We also thank those who participated in the tournament’s Virtual Silent Auction. Winning bids included a condo rental at the Jersey Shore, original art, and tennis equipment and lessons with a pro.
Highlights from the 4th Annual Chester County Open Tennis Tournament
The 4th Annual Chester County Doubles Tennis Tournament was in full swing over Labor Day weekend, with support from USTA Middle States and Tennis Addiction Sports Club. The tournament, run by Event Chairperson T.T. Krishnagopal and Tournament Director Anthony Dececco, was held indoors at Tennis Addiction in Exton, raising over $7,000 for VEP. Tournament organizers were presented with a Certificate of Recognition from Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe for their outreach to the community over the past few years. All proceeds benefited the Volunteer English Program and the West Chester Food Cupboard. This could not have been achieved without the support of sponsors and individual donations.
Highlights from the 3rd Annual Chester County Open Tennis Tournament
The 3rd Annual Chester County Open Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament, in association with Tennis Addiction and Pennypacker Country Club, returned to play the weekend of August 18th, 2023. Thank you to TT Krishnagopal, Anthony DeCecco, and the entire Tennis Tournament Committee for their hard work in organizing the tournament, which brought together community members to benefit the Volunteer English Program and the West Chester Food Cupboard.
